You continue rowing forward and the giant bird seems enjoy the ride. It occassionally bends over the side to scoop up water or snatch a fish with its beak before merrily turning its head upward to swallow, shaking its body as it does so.

It startles you with a sudden series of loud cries before positioning its rear over the inside of the boat and laying a giant, slimey egg. The bird lets out a final triumphant squawk before flying off out of sight.

You stare at the egg, still covered in embryonic goo from its mother. You hear a hiss from the reeds to your right. The grasses part to reveal a weathered old face, covered in grime. They smile, revealing three caramel-colored teeth atop their gums.

"Psssssst. If you want to leave the swamp, I can help. Let me have that fresh egg and you'll be out in no time."

You can ask for help, ask why they want the egg, refuse, or row away.
