You sit cross-legged on the ground and pull the oversized fruit towards you, it's almost too heavy to lift. You pierce the tough skin with your teeth and peel it back with your fingers to expose the juicy plant flesh below before taking a big bite. Juice runs down your chin as you close your eyes, savoring the flavor. It's sweeter, smoother, and more buttery than anything you've ever tasted; so delicious that you feel a wave of pleasure spreading from your fingertips and toes through the rest of your body.

You lean down to take another bite but as you do you you feel your eyelids drooping as exhaustion overcomes you. You feel unable to resist and stretch out on the forest floor, succumbing to sleep.

You awaken feeling unbelievably refreshed but with odd aches throughout your body. You remember where you've fallen asleep, and figure it must be from sleeping on leaves and dirt. You stretch your limbs and they feel strange. You turn your gaze towards your arms as you stretch them towards your head and realize they look bizarrely thin and long and completely covered in hair. Your eyes jerk towards your hands but find cloven hooves instead of fingers or palms. You scramble to stand but realize you need to keep all four limbs on the ground to keep yourself upright.

You run forward in a blind panic, stumbling awkwardly you struggle to keep balance on your alien new appendages. You eventually reach a still pond. Breathing erratically, you slowly make your way to the pond's edge and peer at its glassy waters. Reflected in its surface staring back at you is a large stag, and you see the sides of its torso rising and falling rapidly as beads of perspiration run down its sides. You turn your head from side to side as the stag reflected in the pond does the same, examining the antlers protruding from what you realize is your own head. You reach forward to touch the water and watch as it ripples around the cloven hoof at the end of your front leg, obscuring your reflection.

You open your mouth to scream for help, but all that comes out is a low, croaking bellow. Feeling exhausted once again, you curl up under the nearest tree, fold your legs beneath you, and fall asleep.
