You push on the door. Nothing happens. You push harder. Still nothing. You press your shoulder against it and push against it with your entire weight, digging your feet against the floor. The door unsticks and swings open with a bang. An acrid stench assaults your nostrils as you pass through the doorway into a large dark room. You are taken aback as you notice people huddled around the walls. Their bodies are covered head to toe with filthy grey robes, their hoods covering their faces. You catch the muted sounds of sobs and gasps from the figures, and at one point a snatch of hysterical laughter. You look around and see no other doors or exits within the room. You can attempt to talk to the people in the room, head back the way you came and try following the walkway in the other direction upwards, or you can try using your flashlight or whistle. |
